Times Spectrum is located on Darug and Gundungurra country in Ha'Penny Lane, Katoomba and was commissioned by the Living Lanes project. The pubilc artwork is a response to the mark we leave on the environment. It consists of three rotating sculptures, each containing six dichroic discs. These discs showcase audio spectrums of local bird sounds from both present and past times. Throughout the day, the discs project coloured light onto the laneway's wall and floor. An abstracted mural covers the laneway's awning ceiling and floor, creating an immersive experience for the public.
